You Know It’s a Weight Loss Scam When…

Weight loss - muscle gain advertisement.

Okay, I admit that there are a million scams out there in the weight loss, muscle gaining, breast and penis enlargement, memory improvement, and many other categories.

And some of the scam artists are pretty good at disguising themselves and making their ads appear completely legit.

But, this ad has to belong to either a rookie scammer, or just someone who is really bad at it. (click on it to enlarge)

These two guys don’t even remotely resemble each other.  Even a novice photoshop hack could have made their faces look somewhat similar, but apparently these scam artists just aren’t that good.

They get the Dopiest Weight Loss Scam Artists of the Day award.

Obviously I didn’t include the link with their ad.  Certainly don’t want to give them any more traffic.

Love it, Dave. I recently saw a similar thing in an insert in a box of “slimming tea” that someone gave me. The before and after pictures were hilarious (if you can get beyond the fact that some people might be taken in by the claims). They not even close to being the same person. One was Asian and the other was not.

    Thanks Marsha,
I guess sometimes people desperately looking for a solution will try anything, regardless of whether common sense throws up a red flag or not.

Dave, it'd actually be kinda funny if people didn't actually get sucked in to these types of scams. At least you can get the word out via this medium to stay far away from it as possible

    Hey Daniel,
I'm actually thinking of creating a page on the blog devoted entirely to stupid scam online ads… Of course, that alone could turn into a full time job.
