So last week I took a totally unscientific little poll asking people what their biggest challenge was when it comes to exercising regularly. The results were pretty much what I expected them to be.
The number one reason people gave was that they just don’t have the time to exercise consistently. That had about twice the votes of the number two response, which was “I hate the gym”. That was actually tied for second with the honest “I’m just too lazy.”
I really didn’t need to take a poll to know that time would be the top excuse for not exercising. It always is. Between kids, spouses, jobs, school, shopping, cooking, cleaning, and watching The Bachelor, most people have a ready-made excuse to not work out.
Until now. I hate excuses, so I created a solution to the problem of not having enough time to work out.
You see, people who say they don’t have time to exercise are assuming it will take them an hour or more to work out. Add in a 20 minute drive each way to the gym, and you’re thinking exercise is close to a two hour commitment. Nothing could be further from the truth.
I rarely, if ever, work out for an hour. In fact, most of my workouts are about 20 minutes long. Sometimes 30, but that’s if I’m really going crazy.
The truth is, if you know the right exercises to do, you can easily get a great, full-body workout done in 20 minutes. And you don’t need to drive to the gym. With some dumbbells and a stability ball, you can get a kickass workout done right at home.

So, if you think you’re too busy to exercise, 20 Minute Workouts might be the perfect solution for you.

Yup, making the time commitment is the hardest thing. The key for me was to put your Bootcamp in my calendar as an event. That means I don’t schedule client meetings or concalls at those times and I make that commitment to myself. Best decision I ever made!

I am a true believer that if you want an excuse you will find no matter what. I had to just flat out get off my lazy arse and get to the gym. I did not want to I did not have time and I did not like it but now I do love it and miraculously I have plenty of time. Crazy how it all works
Isn't it amazing how once our priorities change we suddenly have the ability to add more hours to the day?…:)
I find that treating exercise as something that needs to be done rather than something I would do if I had the time prevents me from tossing it aside.
