I just love when I find another winner of the coveted DEPOT’d (Dumb Exercise Product of the Day) Award. And on days like today when I’ve got a couple of prize winners, well, I’m practically giddy.
The first one is an exercise product called the “Bosom Buddy”. Nope, not making that up. Apparently this product is targeting women so disappointed with their breasts that they’ll throw every last ounce of logic and reason out the window and turn over their credit card info for a cheesy aqua-colored piece of plastic with a hinge that you ‘exercise’ with.

A lot of people never start an exercise program because they have it in their heads that, no matter what, exercise sucks.
It’s going to hurt. They’re going to be sore. They don’t like going to gyms. They don’t know how to lift weights. They think walking or jogging on the treadmill is mind-numbingly boring.

Let me start this off by being honest right up front. I think what passes for traditional dieting as a means to lose weight, i.e. simple calorie restriction, sucks. Big surprise, I know.
Sure, it can be effective in the short term. Don’t eat as much and yes, you will lose weight. In the long term though, you won’t keep it off. You’ll gain the fat back, often more than you lost.

Unless this is your first time here, you know my opinion on the value of the average person using calorie-restricted diets in order to lose weight. I think it’s a really bad idea unless you want to lose some weight temporarily, then go off your diet and just gain all the fat back. (just in case this is your first time here)
I believe that the best way to go is to focus on health (not thinness), learn how to eat in a healthy manner, and never go on a calorie-restricted or fad diet again.

I don’t care what any one else says. The mechanics of weight loss are truly very simple.
Eat properly, exercise regularly, focus on being healthy, and all will be well. Yes, it is that simple.

The writer and social critic, H.L. Mencken once wrote,
“For every complicated problem there is a solution that is simple, direct, understandable and wrong.”
Our ancestors believed that the stars rotated around the Earth. From our perspective, it made perfect sense. Of course, the idea was completely wrong. In fact, throughout history, people have believed ridiculous things. And we believed them so strongly you would have been persecuted for suggesting otherwise.
